Guaranteed Scholarship Program
Every student entering UNB directly from high school with a scholarship average of 80 per cent or higher will be offered a scholarship. If your scholarship average is:
- between 80 per cent and 84 per cent, you will be offered $500.
- between 85 per cent and 89 per cent, you will be offered $1000.
- 90 per cent or higher, you will be offered a minimum of $1,500.
- 95 per cent or higher will be considered for the President's Scholarship, a renewable award worth up to $20,000 ($5,000 per year.).
How to Apply for UNB Scholarships
To be considered for the multitude of scholarships UNB offers, you MUST complete the scholarship application form and submit it before MARCH 1. Students transferring from another post-secondary institution in Canada to UNB to complete their first undergraduate degree may be considered for scholarship support on the basis of their recent academic achievement.
The Currie Undergraduate Scholarships, and the H. Harrison McCain Bursary require separation applications. The application form for these scholarships is available between Sept 1 and March 1 at www.unb.ca/scholarships.

How UNB Calculates Your Scholarship Average
UNB uses your admission average (the average of the six courses required for admission to your selected program of study), plus any bonus points awarded for enriched courses taken in Grade 11 and first term Grade 12 for which you received a mark of 75 per cent or better.
Bonus points are awarded as follows:
- one bonus point for 1-3 enriched courses
- a maximum of two bonus points for 4-6 enriched courses
- a maximum of three bonus points for 7-9 enriched courses
- a maximum of four bonus points for 10 or more enriched courses .
