Committees/Societies
UNB Moncton Nursing Society
The Nursing Society is the student governing body within UNB Moncton. The volunteers that make up the Board of Officers are elected from and by the students every year in April. We are responsible for most of the social activities that run during the course of the school year. Some examples of events we have held in the past include Treego at Centennial Park, Halloween contests, walking in the Santa Claus Parade, Christmas Charity drives, and Bowling. The Society's aim is to foster a sense of community within UNB Moncton. The activities are varied and we are always looking for new ideas, so feel free to come to any meeting and share your suggestions. :)
UNB Moncton Physical Resouces Committee
Following the expansion and extensive renovation of the Moncton campus in 2007, a Physical Resources Committee was struck to ensure the optimal use of space and resources, identify furniture and equipment needs, and arrange for the timely and most cost-effective maintenance of the existing facility. Its members include Dr. Aquino-Russell, BN Program Director and Chair of the committee, Claudia McCloskey, Charene Slupsky, and Dr. Andy Didyk. The student representative on the committee is 4th year student Terry Mullin. Any ideas on resources that could be added to improve our faculty would be welcomed by any member of the committee.
Nurses Christian Fellowship
Nurses’ Christian Fellowship is nurses and nursing students meeting together for Christian fellowship. We have a common bond in our saviour Jesus Christ. We are nurses who know and love Christ, and try to find ways of making Him known to our friends.
NCF has a special mission to nurses – to encourage them in total vocational commitment within God’s kingdom, focusing on the five objectives of IVCF.
1. Evangelism – witnessing to the need for personal faith in Jesus Christ 2. Spiritual Development – through Bible study, prayer and fellowship 3. Love – demonstrated in the name of Christ 4. Trust – integrated and applied in both personal and professional life 5. Global Mission – obedient involvement in Christ’s mission worldwide
Nursing is a caring profession which promotes health and wholeness of individuals, families and communities. We believe that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is essential for wholeness. Our concern is that students and nurses be whole persons who relate to God, self and others in healthy ways.
Jesus Christ is the foundation for our practice in nursing. We believe
that within the profession of nursing there are particular issues
that should be addressed from a Christian perspective. We are associated
together to provide support and encouragement to one another; to affirm
and remind the nursing profession that Jesus Christ is essential to human
health and wholeness.
