Printers/Photocopiers/ScannerPrintersIn the Computer Lab, law students are offered laser printing for 10 cents per page for one-sided copies, or 15 cents per sheet for double-sided (duplexed) pages. To print, law students make a deposit to a personalized UNB account which is debited automatically as the student prints; the student can add funds to this account electronically. Please DO NOT attempt to print labels on this printer, since it is not set up to accommodate labels and will jam. Print jobs may also be sent to the Computer Lab printer from personal or library-owned laptop computers. Users should report printer problems to the Circulation Desk. A back-up printer is in the lab and can be made operational by library staff in the event that the main laser printer malfunctions. There is a public-use laser printer available on the First Floor - New Wing - at the Reference Desk. Users pay "by the page," at a cost of 10 cents per page (one-sided printing only).
PhotocopiersThe library provides two self-serve photocopiers located in the Periodicals Reading Room on the First Floor - New Wing. The copiers are equipped with multiple-sheet feeders and will make two-sided copying on regular or legal size paper. The copiers do NOT make color copies. Do not attempt to photocopy any labels using the library's copiers. Debit cards are used in the photocopiers and may be purchased at the Law Library Circ Desk. Note: Because the systems are different, debit cards purchased at the Law Library CANNOT be used at other UNB libraries, and vice versa. Persons with a UNB or STU ID card may buy Law Library debit cards as follows:
Persons without a UNB or STU ID card may buy debit cards as follows:
Copies may also be made "by the page" and paid for at the Circulation Desk as follows:
The library accepts either cash or checks as payment; checks must have the purchaser's name, address and home phone number printed on them. The library does not accept credit or bank debit cards. External users making large numbers of photocopies may pay by the page (see above) OR they may request that an invoice or charge-back be issued for amounts in excess of $10. For charges to external organizations (firms, government agencies, etc.), the user must provide a letter from his/her organization agreeing to pay for debit cards and must complete an authorization form at the Circulation Desk, which results in an invoice being sent. For campus charge-backs, the user completes an authorization form at the Circulation Desk, using the appropriate COMPLETE UNB or STU internal accounting code, which results in a charge-back to a UNB or STU internal account.
ScannerThe UNB Law Library has one scanner available for UNB student, faculty, and staff use; it is located in the periodicals reading room on the first floor of the New Wing. There is no cost to use the scanner. Directions on how to use the scanner on posted on the scanner table. Users can scan the items to their Novell account, once logged in, send the documents via email, or save them to a flash drive. If you need assistance while using the scanner, please ask Law Library staff.
