How do I Pay for Print Jobs?

All Novell labs (public and private) require students to have print credit in order to print to a network printer. Staffed, Macintosh, or other special purpose labs may or may not require print credit. Some require that you pay, with cash, before you pick up your print jobs. You should ask the individual who is responsible for the lab in question before printing anything.

Print Credit

All student Novell accounts have an Account Balance attribute for printing. In order to print from lab machines, you must have a positive Account Balance. As you print, the balance will decrease, when it reaches $0.00, you will no longer be able to print. You can check the balance from your Novell session by placing the mouse over the "$" icon in the System Tray.

Note: To get credit for print jobs that don't get printed, ask for assistance at the ITS Help Desk.

How do I get Print Credits?

First-year students are given a non-refundable, one-time credit of $10.00 upon their acceptance to UNB. If you need to print more output than this initial credit allows, you can obtain additional printing credit by completing the Apply for Print Credits form on the web.

Credits will normally be available for use a few minutes after the form is submitted. The minimum purchase is $0.10, the maximum purchase is $100.00, and the amount is charged to your account with the University. Students should go to Student Accounts & Receivable Services and pay for print charges by the end of each month.

Note: Print credits are not refundable but any remaining print credits at the end of the school year can be used in the following year or can be transferred to another user.
