Carrels
The table below shows the location of study carrel areas that are "network ready". Each one has a power outlet and a network connection. If you have a laptop computer you will be able to use the power outlet instead of relying on battery power. If you have an ethernet adapter, you will be able to access the campus network from these carrels.
| Building | Location | Contact Person |
| Law Library | ~50 carrels on 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors + wireless | Scott Chamberlain |
| Harriet Irving Library | 3rd, 4th and 5th floor drops + wireless | ITS Help Desk |
| Engineering Library | 6 drops in the study carrels + wireless | ITS Help Desk |
| Science & Forestry Library | 10 drops in the study carrels + wireless | ITS Help Desk |
| Eaton MM Center | 2nd floor, study carrels beside the CPIT lab + wireless | Vickie MacLeod |
| SUB Atrium | ~25 drops along the outer wall + wireless | ITS Help Desk |
To connect your personal laptop to the network, connect your ethernet card to the carrel
drop using an ethernet cable and open your web browser to http://netaccess.unb.ca,
and choose to register your computer for use on the Campus Network**.
Laptops signed out in the libraries are already registered on the campus network.
**If you are in residence you must register your laptop or desktop computer on the ResNet Network. You will still be able to use the carrels or other drops on campus, but you will have to register for campus access separately.
Please note:
- Graduate Students: Contact your supervisor or Level 1 to register graduate student stand-alone machines in order to gain full access to the student network. Graduate students should, however, register their own laptop through Netaccess.
