OFF-CAMPUS WORK PERMIT

GUIDE TO ONLINE OFF-CAMPUS WORK PERMIT APPLICATION

To apply for your off-campus work permit online you will need to do three separate things:

1. Create a MyCIC account

2. Request an Electronic Verification Number (EVN)

3. Log into your MyCIC account again to complete your application

You must have your passport and access to a scanner.

You must be able to pay online with a credit card, or have your completed prepaid bank form (IMM 5401) ready to scan.

STEP 1- IF YOU ALREADY HAVE AN E-PASS TO ACCESS MyCIC

If you already have an e-pass to log in to MyCIC, click the following link: LOG IN TO MY CIC and then click the Yellow Box on the top right of the webpage.  This will direct you to the MyCIC log in site.  Enter your user name and password.

STEP 1 - IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AN E-PASS TO ACCESS MyCIC

If you do not have an e-pass you will need one to register for a MyCIC account. Click the following link:  REGISTER FOR A GOVERNMENT OF CANADA E-PASS and then click the Yellow Box on the top right of the webpage

HINTS:

At the next page, click REGISTER not “Log In”

My CIC will then ask you to enter a User ID and Password, as well as other data. MAKE SURE YOU PRINT THIS PAGE so that you remember this important information.

Once you have successfully logged in, and accepted the “Terms and Conditions,” you will enter data to obtain an Electronic Verification Number (EVN)

STEP 2:
Request an Electronic Verification Number

HINTS:

When you complete this step, an email requesting verification of your student status is sent to the International Student Advisor’s Office here at UNB.

UNB’s Immigration Advisor, Dale Morris, will verify that you are a registered full-time student, have been full-time for at least six months, and you have a GPA higher than 2.0

Within three days, you will receive a message on your email account to let you know that UNB has verified your status. You are now ready to complete the rest of your application.

STEP 3:  Log in to your MyCIC account again to complete your application.

Once you are logged in to MyCIC, select In-Canada Temporary Resident Application. Follow the instructions on the form.
