Cultural Organizations on Campus:

AFRICAN STUDENTS UNION (ASU)Cultural Organizationa Photo

Founded in 1967, The African Student Union aims to promote cultural awareness and help orient new African students to the UNB campus and Fredericton community.  ASU membership is open to all students.

BANGLADESH CULTURAL SOCIETY (BCS)

The Bangladesh Cultural Society is a non-secular student organization.  The missions and objectives include, cultivating friendship and a spirit of unity, providing support to Bangladesh students on campus at UNB and promoting Bangladeshi and Bengali culture and heritage.

BHUTANESE STUDENTS ASSOCIATION (BSA)

The Bhutanese Cultural Society is an organization of students from the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan.  The society's goals are to introduce Bhutanese culture and tradition, and to promote goodwill and friendship between the Bhutanses students and the community at large.

CHINESE STUDENT AND SCHOLAR ASSOCIATION (CSSA)

CCSA aims to introduce Chinese culture and tradition and promote understanding and friendship at UNB and in the Fredericton community.

INDIAN STUDENT ASSOCIATION (ISA)

The objectives of ISA are to help Indian

students coming to UNB, contribute

towards the social, economic and

educational development of Indian

students, and to promote Indian and

understanding and appreciation of

Indian culture on campus

JAPANESE STUDENT SOCIETY

The Japanese Student Society promotes

interaction bewteen Japanese students and local residents.  The society also helps support newcomers from Japan.  The society welcomes all those interested in any aspect of Japanese society.

MALAYSIAN STUDENTS' SOCIETY (MSS)

The role of MSS is to share Malaysian culture on campus (through Cultural Nights), provide a "home-like" environment for new Malaysian students, and promote interaction among members.

MUSLIM STUDENTS' ASSOCIATION (MSA)

MSA is an association that unites the  muslim students on campus.  The main objectives of the MSA are to help Muslims uphold and advance the religious, social and moral standards of Islam through religious, social, civic, charitable, literary, educational, athletic and other activities.

OVERSEAS CHINESE STUDENT ASSOCIATION (OCSA)

Since 1964 the Overseas Chinese Student Association has been promoting Chinese culture and traditions.  The main objectives are to foster friendship, work for the interests and welfare of all overseas Chinese students, and to render assistance to new students come to UNB.

PAKISTAN STUDENT ASSOCIATION (PSA)

 

SAUDI STUDENTS ASSOCIATION

The mission of this organization is to promote friendship and understanding within the Saudi community first and strengthening the bonds with other national and international affiliates within University of New Brunswick. The membership will engage in social activities such as gatherings and sporting events in order to cultivate a close and cooperative social environment. A tertiary purpose of the society will be to help new arrivals integrate into student life at University of New Brunswick, and help adjust to life in New Brunswick in general.

Sawaddee!  THSA is a student-run organization that aims to promote and foster an awareness and appreciation of Thai culture and heitage.  THSA also aims to provide support for Thai students at UNB.  Membership is open to everyone!
