  • How do I become an exchange student to the University of New Brunswick ?
    Students are chosen to participate through the study abroad programs at their university. For more information please contact a study abroad advisor at your University.

  • What are UNB’s English language requirements?
    There are provisions to admit students who meet our academic requirements but do not meet the English language requirements of the university. Since the English language programs are different at each campus, please click below for more detailed information.

  • How many academic courses should I enrol in? A full-time course load at the University of New Brunswick is 12 credit hours or 4 courses. Students may register for up to 21 credit hours. However, students must remember that for every hour spent in class, two hours should be spent outside of class studying. This means a student, who is taking 12 credit hours, should spend at least 36 hours a week in class and studying. Students who have difficulty comprehending the English language should reserve more time for study.

  • When is the application deadline for exchange students?
    For exchange students the application deadline is … for the autumn semester and …for the spring semester.

  • How do exchange students find accommodation in the University of New Brunswick ?
    Exchange students may apply for accommodation when submitting the on-line application form.

  • Can I apply for off-campus housing?
    In most cases,renting practises require you to sign a lease for a full year. If you leave before the lease expiration date, you are still responsible to pay for the duration of the lease. Alternatives are to find a roommate who is prepared to accept responsibility for the lease and who will let you live together with them in the apartment/house. There are also a number of private homes located near to UNB that offer room and board accommodations to university students.   • When does the academic year start?
    The academic year consists of two semesters. The fall semester usually runs from the beginning of September to mid-December and the winter semester from early January to early April. There is usually a teaching break of two or three weeks at Christmas.   • When will be the perfect time for my arrival?
    Exchange students should arrive at the campus in time for the orientation program or at the latest for the course start. The orientation program offers important information about studies and student life. It is also an excellent opportunity to meet new friends.

  • Is there an orientation program at UNB?
