HEALTHY ACTIVE LIVING CHAMPIONS

Step it Up! Walking Challenge

Step it Up!

On April 28, 2008 a pilot project of the Campus Wellness Committee, HALC, HR and Campus Recreation was officially launched. The Step it Up! Walking Challenge saw the staff of 6 departments challenged to walk as many steps as possible from April 28 to May 2, 2008. Participants were given a pedometer, log booklet and walking tip sheets to track their progress - ALL for a small admission fee. The proceeds raised will help fund the Healthy Active Living Champions program and its' new initiatives.

Over 100 people from the UNB Bookstore, Financial Services, Registrar's Office, RPB, Human Resources, and Campus Rrecreation signed on. Although the weather didn't always cooperate, the participants were enthusiastic and energetic.

THANKS to everyone who took took those many steps! YOU ARE ALL WINNERS! We also thank all the many local businesses, organizations and people who donated their time and prizes!

We hope to offer another challenge campus wide to STEP IT UP! and walk. Stay tuned!
