Pinder Block

The Pinder Block property is located approximately 30 km south of Fredericton, adjacent route 101 and near the village of Tracy. The property, which encompasses 53 hectares (130 acres) of land, was conveyed on May 21, 1953 to the university by Jack Pinder, then a university student.

The property is a valuable resource particularly with certain Maritime College of Forest Technology courses. It is new growth following a recent fire and the soil is completely different from that of the UNB Woodlot. Also, Red Pine, which does not occur naturally on other University forest properties, is common in the area.
