The first Civil Engineering lecture in Canada was held here at UNB’s Fredericton campus in 1853. We've grown since then and today we offer a fully accredited, four year undergraduate program leading to a BScE in Civil Engineering. With a large number of technical electives in the final year of the program, our students can specialize in a particular discipline within Civil Engineering or cover a broad range of topics for a more general degree. More information about potential areas of specialization can be found here.
UNB Civil Engineering offers you a comprehensive program through a variety of courses, labs, and extracurricular activities. We also offer a Co-op option so you can gain valuable work experience as you complete your degree.
At the graduate level we offer M.Eng., MScE, and Ph.D. programs. In addition to a wide variety of research groups within the Department, many of our graduate students collaborate with other researchers in engineering, the natural sciences, and industry. A more complete description of our graduate program can be found here.
