• Gather books and information

• Read with small group of children

• Elict prior knowledge, get children’s thoughts about nests, what they
are made of what etc. (have them tell you what you know, use prompting questions, pick up on their interests about birds)

• Develop an outline of the 4 week plan

• Read Alexander’s Sky Blue Eggs by Marjorie Speed

Follow up:
• A letter was sent home to parents explaining the project and asking for items related to their child's bird knowledge to be brought to the classroom.
