Holiday Eggnog

Recipes brought from home and shared with children in the class provide opportunties for pedgaogical conversations about   measuring, cooking, and transformations of state.  In this case Katelyn wanted to take the recipe home for her mom and aunt - a perfect opportunity for spontaneous copying that allowed Katelyn to select content meanigful to her. She has had the freedom to copy without the necessary restrictions of a more formal printing lesson. And Katelyn and her family were able to take a little bit of school learning into their home
