Competitions:The climbing club hosts a number of competitions every year. They are typically in an open bouldering format, with a full range of categories from beginner to advanced. If you've never competed, then try it out! They are a lot of fun, registration fees are low and there are great prizes!
Youth Climbing:Membership is generally restricted to patrons over the age of sixteen, but there are plenty of ways for youth to enjoy rock climbing. There is a family night every Saturday, Junior Rock Climbing classes, and the rock wall is an awesome place to have your next birthday party!
General Public:Not a club member yet? You can still get involved, and experience what the UNB Rock & Ice Climbing Club has to offer! Check out the Banff Film Festival, or book a private birthday climbing-party. The rock wall is also an exciting and fun place to host your next fund raising event!
Instruction:One of the main objectives of the club is to promote safe climbing, and the best way to do this is through education. Climbing is often percieved as a dangerous sport, and it certainly can be dangerous without proper training. By following standard practices and guidlines you can greatly reduce the risk of injury, and safely enjoy all that climbing has to offer!
Banff Mountain Film Festival:Featuring sensational films from all over the globe and great door prizes, the Banff Mountain Film Festival is not to be missed! This event runs for two nights, showcasing different films each night. Get your tickets early, as this event has been known to sell out!! There will also be a concession stand with refreshments on site.
