Fall and Winter Competitions
The UNB Rock & Ice Climbing Club generally puts on two climbing competitions each year, one in the fall and one in winter. The fall competition is generally held around Halloween. The winter competition is held on the Saturday of the Banff Film Festival, during the first weekend of February. An internal route-setter creates a fun and challenging competition in mens and womens advanced, intermediate, and beginner levels. Entry fees are low, and we ask that you bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Fredericton Food Bank. This competition is for fun and bragging rights... and there are great prizes from the Radical Edge too!
Note: Watch for posters around campus, or check this website a few weeks before the Banff Film Festival for more information. -
Winter Tour de Bloc
Some years, the UNB Rock & Ice Climbing Club hosts a local climbing competition sometime in early March. An external route-setter is brought in to create a fun and challenging competition in mens and womens open, experienced, and recreational levels. Entry fees are moderate, and we ask that you bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Fredericton Food Bank. This competition is part of a national circuit, and there are great prizes!
Note: Watch for posters around campus, or check the Tour de Bloc schedule for more information.
