Biology Society Meeting Minutes for Jan. 27, 2008
In attendance: Dave Desjardins, Melissa Fulton
-Treasurer has resigned. Dave to find out about remaining funds. Need replacement - Dave to send out e-mail about nominations
-Darwin Day pubcrawl with Townhouse Feb 15th. Dave ordering shirts tomorrow.
-Dave found Planet Earth DVDs. Melissa to check on Public Performance Rights
-Melissa to check constitution about meetings and elections
-Dave to send out e-mail shortly about elections. |

Biology Society Meeting Minutes - Jan. 20, 2008
In attendance: Dave Desjardins, Melissa Fulton
Some (possible) events for this term:
-"Prof Talks" series. First one this Thursday 12:30-1:30, snacks provided. Series will probably be every third Thursday of the month. Dave to put up posters for the event.
-Melissa to update bulletin board this week, so able to use it more for upcoming events.
-Coffee with your Profs. A chance to meet Bio profs. Need to decide on a date. Will be after midterms.
-Darwin Day pubcrawl. Want to have one, but need enough people. Want to make shirts cheap, but will lose money this way. Talk to Ruben about how much money we have to subsidize the cost. Feb. 15th, tentatively. Dave to send out e-mail to get numbers.
-Farewell Party at Dave's. A chance to say farewell to our 2008 grads! Date TBA, either beginning or end of March break.
-Planet Earth episode weekly screenings. Need to find a copy, plus performance rights. |

Biology Society Meeting Minutes - Nov. 11, 2007 In attendance: Dave Desjardins, Melissa Fulton - (potential) Last Class Bash party. Since most people too busy to attend these parties are last class, will instead have "Last Exam Bash" held tentatively on Dec 18 10 pm (after all exams over)
Potential events for next term: - Kick-off party in January
- meet your profs event - chance for profs to represent their research to science students
- coffee with profs - chance for students to socialize and get to know their profs
- Darwin Day pubcrawl in Feb.
- event for graduating students, such as coffee in sci.lib., for students to connect. Open to all science students (coordinate with Chem Soc., Math Soc., Physics Soc., Health Sciences Soc., etc).

Biology Society Meeting Minutes September 16th
In attendance: Dave Desjardins, Melissa Fulton
-Dave and Melissa went over the Constitution. Melissa to type up and forward to other Exec Officers for approval. Melissa to send to VP Finance and Operations.
-Attendance and other issues: VP hasn't attended meetings, has Dave's key and has not returned and has failed to show up at the Clubs and Societies Fair and at the Science Library during our membership drive after committing to do so. Dave to remedy these issues.
-Melissa to contact Capital City Paintball for event in early October (first Saturday preferably) and to send info to Dave.
-BBQ on Sept 17: Dave to get BBQ from Physical Plant and to buy food and get food waiver from the Student Union. Members may get deal on BBQ (ex: 2 for 1). Will need people to man the BBQ (probably Ruben and Dave). Any money raised at the BBQ will probably subsidy Paintball fees.
-Have decided not to do membership cards because of cost, and they are easily lost. Instead, will just keep registry.
-Pubcrawl to be held after midterms at the end of October, probably a Friday. Need design for T-shirts. Need to contact pubs (ideas= Grad House, the Capital, Sweetwaters/Rodeo, Boom, 20/20). |
