Facilities
MacLaggan Hall 015 is designed for use as a videoconference classroom. All regularly scheduled courses
requiring videoconferencing take place here. This room seats 35. EMC126 in Marshall D'Avray Hall is a boardroom
catering to all one-time videoconference events such as meetings and interviews. No classes are held here.
This room seats 20.
Please Note: MacLaggan 015 and EMC126 are reserved exclusively for UNB academic and administrative use.
All commercial videoconference requests will be referred to the Wu Conference Centre.
Room Booking
Booking of MacLaggan 015 may be done by first contacting Media Services to discuss requirements.
Media Services will work with the Registrar's Office to secure the room booking. You will also be instructed to
complete the online room booking form.
Booking of EMC126 is done through Media Services directly. Contact Kevin McDonough at kwm@unb.ca or 458-7664.
Training
Training for the MacLaggan Hall 015 videoconference classroom must be arranged through Media Services prior
to first-time use. Training usually takes place before the start of the course and can range from ½ to 3
hours depending on what equipment the user expects to employ when teaching the course. It is highly recommended
that a student operator be trained to assist the instructor for each class. Operator costs will be the
individual department's responsibility. See operators(Hourly charge) for more information on using student operators.
Only basic training is required for the EMC126 boardroom since Media Services staff will assist in setting up the
call. The user simply needs to control the camera and sound.
Room Access
Access to the MacLaggan Hall 015 videoconference classroom MUST be arranged through Media Services. A room key
can be signed out once the user has undergone an extensive orientation of the facilities. Keys will be
available from Media Services Equipment Pool, room 133 D'Avray Hall.
Access to the videoconference boardroom in Marshall D'Avray Hall 126 must be arranged though Media Services.
A technical staff member will accompany the user to the room to allow access.
Technical Support
Technical support is provided by Media Services during the regular daytime workweek Monday to Friday.
Should a problem arise that users cannot resolve, they may call Media Services Technical Support (447-3407)
or Kevin McDonough (458-7664) for assistance.
