Celebrating our international accomplishments

While the Faculty of Business Administration celebrates the launch of a new BBA degree program in Singapore, the Faculty’s first international program, the BBA program in Trinidad & Tobago, reached a significant milestone recently when it celebrated its tenth year in existence.

With the announcement of the program’s tenth anniversary also comes the announcement of a new partner for the program: the University of the West Indies. UWI is the top university in the Caribbean with campuses in 15 countries around the region that provide education to over 39,000 students each year. The university is a key factor in the development of the Caribbean region and it may be the only university in the world to count eight Prime Ministers among its alumni.

In addition to this exciting new partnership, faculty officials recently attended a quality assurance assessment for recognition of the BBA programme offered in Trinidad and Tobago. The assessment was conducted by the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT) together with a team of external evaluators and UNB's academic partner - the UWI School of Business and Applied Studies Limited. Confirmation of successful completion should be forthcoming. Conferment of Recognition from ACTT would support the BBA qualification as one that meets acceptable levels of quality and legitimacy across national boundaries.

Currently there are over 200 students enrolled at the Trinidad & Tobago campus, and during the ten years of the program's existence it has produced over 650 graduates.

Across the Atlantic the Faculty’s programs in Egypt and Ukraine are also experiencing great successes.

The BBA program at the Sadat Academy for Management Sciences in Cairo is also quickly approaching its own tenth anniversary and is proceeding along better than ever after an overhaul of the program. There are over 120 students enrolled in the program and these students will hopefully soon join the more than 110 alumni that the program has created over the past ten years.

Finally, the MBA program at the International Institute of Business in Kiev, Ukraine has continued its successes as it was once again ranked as one of Ukraine’s top business schools by the national publication 2000. The program also has its highest enrolment ever with 23 students currently enrolled in the program.
