Qualitatives 2008

Qualitatives

We are proud to report that by all accounts the 25th Qualitative Analysis conference - Qualitatives 2008: The Chicago School & Beyond - was a great success. Over 200 people attended the conference and 134 papers were given by scholars from across Canada, the United States, South America, and Europe. Delegates from a wide range of disciplines, from sociology to business administration through human sciences, were represented at the conference; testifying to the efficacy of qualitative research design in analyzing and explaining complex issues. Delegates especially appreciated the inclusive atmosphere and the high level of scholarship the conference afforded them. Many thanks to everyone who had a hand in organizing the 2008 Qualitatives and making it the success that it was.

The conference commemorated both the quarter-century anniversary of the Qualitative Analysis Conference and the 85th anniversary of the publication of The Hobo by Nels Anderson, Professor Emeritus of Sociology, University of New Brunswick. The 2008 Qualitatives was jointly hosted by The Department of Sociology, University of New Brunswick and the Atlantic Centre for Qualitative Research and Analysis, St Thomas University.
