2006 Annual Meeting
Dr. Boxill is a graduate of the Philosophy Department of the University of New Brunswick, having completed his M.A, Willard Van Orman Quine’s Philosophy of Language in 1965 under the supervision of Professor Neil MacGill. He is currently Pardue Professor of Philosophy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is the author of Race and Racism (Oxford, 2001), Blacks and Social Justice (Rowman and Littlefield, [2nd edition] 1992). He has authored numerous articles, book chapters and encyclopedia entries, dealing mainly with issues of Social Justice. Dr. Boxill serves on the editorial board of several prestigious journals and presses. He is also an accomplished teacher, having received the Tanner Faculty Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching in 2003. Dr. Boxill will be speaking on Friday, October 27, at 4:00 p.m. at Holy Cross House at St. Thomas University.
