Paula Kristmanson is an Associate Professor with the Institute and has held various positions since 1994. She now plays a key role at L2RIC in terms of on-going research and teaching projects. Her academic interests currently focus on classroom-based action research focusing on writing instruction and the implementation of the European
language portfolio. In addition, she has been involved in academic work related to teacher education and was a member of the new B.Ed. program steering committee. She completed her Master's in 1994 and her Doctorate in
2006 with theses set in the context of adult second language learning and intensive language programs for elementary students respectively. Paula is involved in many second language associations and is currently the President of TESL NB and a member of the board of TESL Canada.In addition to presentations at both national and international conferences, Paula has also given keynote addresses and workshops for educators, language learners, and parent groups. She has also been involved in the administration of international projects at the Institute, such as the Canada-Europe teacher exchange project and the Estonian Language Training project.

Paula Kristmanson est Professeure agrégée à l’Institut. Depuis 1994, elle a occupé plusieurs postes, et joue maintenant un rôle clé à l’IRL2C dans les projets de recherche et l’enseignement des cours. Ses intérêts portent sur les domaines suivants de l’anglais langue seconde et du français langue seconde : l’apprentissage d’une langue seconde chez l’adulte, l’enseignement du français de base, les programmes d’enseignement intensif des langues, l’aspect affectif et les processus d’apprentissage. Elle a récemment soutenu sa thèse de doctorat; la recherche portait sur le traitement cognitif associé aux programmes d’apprentissage intensif des langues.
Paula fait partie du comité exécutif de TESL-NB qu’elle copréside. En plus d’avoir donné des présentations à des conférences nationales et internationales, elle a prononcé des discours et animé des ateliers destinés aux enseignants, aux apprenants et aux parents. À l’Institut, elle participe à l’administration de projets internationaux comme l’échange d’enseignants Canada-Europe et le projet de formation pédagogique en Estonie.
